Quieter Living Room Flowers

Quieter Living Room Flowers Swatch
More flowers – well, you can’t have too many of them, can you? These, however, are considerably quieter flowers than the ones I used yesterday and are also less graphic in their detail.
The effect is mid-century and intended to convey a sense of calm and to give an idea of a small-scale pattern. The colours, as ever, are from the mid-century palette that would have been in use at the time. These colours are the unusual but genuine sky colour for the background and then poppy red, lovely anchusa (I make no apologies for over-using this colour), Bredon green and finally chocolate.
This is a nice, simple design and in order to make this a proper comparison, I have used the same living room set I used yesterday with, in fact, the same parameters so that I can produce an image which can be compared to the image which I posted yesterday. The effect is very different, now the room looks serene and – dare I say – much more sophisticated. Having a patterned wall covering has given, yet again, a lift to what would otherwise be a featureless interior space.
If you would like to see larger versions of these designs and my other work then you can do so on my Flickr page, a link to which is here.
